Machuca Garage Sale is a noticeboard for neighbours to pass things on. It's a small community project, not a shop.
Posting is invite-only
Anyone can browse. Posting needs an invite from someone already here, which is how we keep this to actual neighbours. Don't pass your invite to people outside the community.
Your listings are yours
You keep ownership of your photos and words. By posting, you let us show them on the site. You're responsible for describing things honestly — the condition, the price and whether it's still available.
We're not part of the deal
We put neighbours in touch and stop there. We don't handle money, delivery, or inspection, and we don't check that anything is as described. Whatever you agree with another neighbour is between the two of you. Use the same judgement you'd use meeting someone from the WhatsApp group.
What not to post
Nothing illegal, stolen, unsafe, or that you don't have the right to sell. No animals, no weapons, and nothing that would make a neighbour uncomfortable to scroll past. We can take down a listing or close an account if it doesn't belong here.
No promises about the site
This runs on a best-effort basis. It may be down, lose something, or change. We aren't liable for anything that comes out of using it or of a deal made through it.
